What we've been doing..........
01.11.06 - Just to keep you up to date on the job front, David is working for Energex, meter reading,
and I am awaiting the result of a job interview, with 4 other applications being considered.  We will
keep you posted on our career developments at regular intervals!

29th October - Went to an expat meet up at Roma park in Brisbane CBD, we were wary of going as
you never know who you're going to meet, but met a really nice family who we're getting together with
this week and hopefully will be very good friends.
28th October - Went to Australia Zoo again as we had some discount tickets, it was over 30 degrees
and a beautiful day, we all had a lovely time.  Josh and david had a picture with some exoctic birds
(see below) and we saw all sorts of animals and shows, etrc. Josh fed some animals and played on a
bouncy castle and went on a ride. We saw a wild sanke that went under our table in the cafe...nice!
20th October - Went to Dream World on the gold coast, this was great as it had fabulous
rollercoasters but was great for small children too. We spent the majority of the day in Wiggles world,
Josh met all his favourite characters and had pictures with them all, we went on the 'big red car' three
times and went on a boat and a train and josh drove us on a vintage car, it was a great day and
coming out you can buy another ticket for only $10, this is valid for 2 weeks so we'll be going again
soon!

18.11.06 - HI everyone, recently we've bought 'boogie boards' which are a small surf board that you
lie on and we've been practising at Moffat Beach on the Sunshine Coast.  Josh loves it, but we've
been practising on calm water as the first time we tried it with Josh a big wave came over him, he was
not amused!!!
We've been to sea world on the Gold coast too, whcih was great, there's a fabulous pool area, with 3
pools, it's great for children, although tthe park itself is a bit old for Josh's age except for the childrens
rides section, but it was a great day out.  We've given in and bought annual passes ofr Dream World!
Josh absolutely loves it there, and there's never enough hours there when we go, so we've bought
passess so we can go whenever we want!  Josh will be all wiggled out soon.
Our anniversay was lovely, we had a great day out on sunshine coast boogie boarding nad had
noodle box (asian food) and bubbly, it was lovely!  thanks to everybody who sent cards, they were
really lovely!
We're also making some friends now which is great, we're off out for a picnic today with some and also
out tomorrow...hectic social life!
We're all ready for Josh's birthday next week, and now have 15 coming to his party next saturday!
Karen's still not got a job but there are more interviews coming so keep them fingers crossed!

08.12.06
Aside from the birthday we have managed to squeeze in a game of golf, watch a little cricket (hang
head in shame!) and catch a few waves!  We went to a party fri evening for a friend who was leaving
kindy and today (Sunday) we are going to a barbie at our friends (Julia, Simon, Thea and Rowan) so it
should be a good do.  It's relly hotting up here, the weather is a balmy 30 degrees, but the sun is like
nothing we've ever felt before, Everybody has been on holiday when it's really hot, but this is different,
it's intense, sun screen is a must!!!  We saw a bright greena d yellow spider yesterdya, smallish but
chunky, apparently a crab spider...nice! and today we've found a wasps nest on the side of our
house...fantastic!  Whe wasps here are quite big I have to say so David's dealing with that one!!!
No more snakes (touch wood) thankfully, although JOsh's pretend one is pretty realistic looking and
has made me jump more than once!
This coming week it's more job hunting for me and work for Dave.  Dave has signed up to transfer his
crane qualifications to Aussie ones, he starts that on 4th December for one week.  Thrusday Karen
and Josh are going to Julia's for the children to play and the mum's to gossip then next sunday we are
all meeting up with some friends for lunch, so it's busy, busy, busy...don't know where I'll find the time
to fit in work!!!
09.12.06 - Went to Sydney for the weekend to stay with my sister and see my ever growing cuddly
nephew! We had a great time there, having a picnic with Lorraine's friends in centenail park (see
photo) and then that night getting the children to bed and then having a Xmas dinner as Lorraine
and her family were going back to teh UK for Xmas and New year.  It was a great night with lovely
food and fun party games!  I have to say I think I am pictionnary champion!!!!! The next day we went
walkin ground China town and had some lovely sweet roles, then we went on the Darling Harbour
which is a beautiful place.  It was fabulous having the opportunity to catch up with them and we're
looking forward to gonig back around Feb / March time!

On Xmas eve we went to South bank which is a city beach for swimming and sandcastles,
then later that day we had a traditional turkey dinner, that evening we took Josh to see the
Xmas lights in our town, they were lovely, but word of warning, if you ever go spray with
mosquito spray s the lights attract them!
Earlier that week we had also been to a carol concert in a local school palying field, there
were hundreds of people there and it was properly organised, it was amazing and it was all
free!!
On Xmas day our frineds came round with their children for a tuna and steak barbie, half way
through our dinner outside we noticed an agitated wasp and when we looke dunder our
gusest Simon's chair there was a big wasps nest!!! The meal was hastily moved inside whilst
David exterminated the critters!
Earlier on Xmas day we had gone for a drive to get Josh to have a nap as he'd been up very
early and we drove to the sea front in scarborough which was lovely, dave and Josh slept and
Iread my book on the sea front having a little peace!
Boxing day was definately a day of rest and then wednesday was spent at dream world.
On the 30th we had a party at our house, there were over 20 people who all brought a plate
and beer and it was good fun.
New years eve was spent in Ipswich at a train museum as they had a Thomas the tank
exhibition and then up at Mount cootha. We were so shattered we didn't manage stayin gup
until midnight!
The n
ext day we went to the Gold Coast, to main beach at surfers paradise with some frineds,
it was gorgeous and warm and JOsh ran all day, after a walk through surfers we went home
for a well deserved relaxing glass of wine!
