DAYS OUT!
ON THIS PAGE YOU WILL FIND WRITE UP'S ABOUT PLACES WE'VE BEEN TO SO THAT YOU
CAN SEE WHERE YOU CAN VISIT WHEN YOU'RE HERE!
SEAWORLD.
Seaworld is located on the Goldcoast just north of Surfers Paradise. It is free for under 4's and
approx $62 per adult. It's not that interesting for a nearly 3 year old in relation to shows, there are
aquariums and underwater viewing areas which josh loved, but he was a bit young for the shows,
there is a great cartoon network area with rides for chiildren but the queues were long so Josh only
went on a couple of rides which had the shorter queues. There is water skiing shows and 4d planet
show. You can have animal experiences, helicopter rides or swim with the dolphins (animal
expereinces and dolphins you'll have to pre-book). Remember to take your towels and bathers as
there's lovely pool areas for all ages. Good day out, this was the busiest attraction we've been to so
far.
AUSTRALIA ZOO.
Australia Zoo is situated on the Sunshine Coast, in Beerwah, north of Brisbane. Admission prices are
$46 per adult, $29 per child and under 3's are free.
This is a great place to visit, it has a massive variety of animals, it has great Croc shows and you are
able to hand feed kanagaroos, and farm animals and kuddle a koala or hold a baby alligator, have a
snake around your neck, hand feed elephants. This is a great place of kids both big and small! The
prices once inside a very reasonable, there is a good eating area which offers a wide range of food.
ONce you're there, have a look at the show times and feeding times and you can get to all of them if
you plan where you're going. There is a childrens play area with a tea cup ride, and bouncy castle
and a small play area with a climbing frame and slide. You can have your picture taken with lots of
types of animals too and they are reasonable prices, but they don't mind you taking your own photo's
at the same time which is great! Definitely worth a visit!!!
MONTEVILLE.
Monteville is situated in the Sunshine Coast Hinterlands further north and west of Australia Zoo. this
is a beautiful place to visit, although I probably wouldn't take Josh as there's nothing there for
children, it's just a beautiful place!
On the way up you pass lookout points whcih are worth stopping at and vineyards which are also
worth stopping at!!!
Once there, it is a quaint street of little shops which are a browsers delight, there are lovely places to
eat also. We ate at the 'hilltop' on the opposite side of the road to the main shops, it has amazing
views and great food!
If you're stying there for a night, 'Clouds' has been recommended to us twice, so it may be worth a
look.
EUMUNDI MARKETS.
Eumundi is a fantastic market, it is situated on the sunshine Coast and is signposted off the Bruce
Highway (1). It is open on a Wednesday and Saturday, it is open on a WEdnesday until 2pm but I'm
not sure if it's later on a Saturday. If you love markets this will be the place to go, it is the biggest
market I've ever been to, it sells absolutely everything, from crafts to clothes and food to therapies! A
market lovers idea of heaven!!!
MOUNT COOT-THA.
Mount Coot-tha is situated on the Northside of Brisbane CBD and slightly inland. It is a lovely place to
visit. It is a view point over Brisbane, it has a cafe and small shop and there is a walk that you can do
but i wouldn't think it would be suitable for prams and I'd take your mosquito sprays too. The views
are amazing and fantastic for photographs, if you're up that way it's really worth seeing!
DREAM WORLD.
Dream World is a fantastic place for all ages. It is situated on the Gold coast, however only around 35
mins from Brisbane.
The admission proces are approx $62 dollars per adult, under 4's are free, then on the way out you
can buy another ticket which has to be used within 14 days, this only costs $10 per adult.
There are some great thrill rides for the adrenalin junkies and then there's Nickelodeon world and
finally Josh's favourite 'wiggles world'. If your kids love the wiggles, this is definitley the place to visit!
They can have photo's with the characters and you can use your camera too, there is a play centre, a
big red car ride, dorothy tea cup ride and wiggles shop! There's also a rainforest with animals to see,
a kids feeding farm, a boat ride, train, vintage cars to drive, and there's a water park which is being
built at the moment but should be good once complete! There's water rides and things that shoot you
up, drop you downa nd you can also visit the big brother house!!! This is a firm Atkinson family
favourite!
SUTTONS BEACH: REDCLIFFE.
Suttons beach at Redcliffe is a lovely place to go and ideal for children. there is a grassy area and a
Barbie area, there is a large play park and it's next to a beach. In the afternoon at a weekend they
have skydivers land on the beach whci are great to watch. there's not too much in the way of shops
nearby (there's a fish a chip place further up the road) so take a picnic.....lovely day out!
LAGOON AT REDCLIFFE.
Along the sea front at Redcliffe there are lots of cafe's and shops, if you go to the sea front and look
down you'll see there's a lower walk and along there is a fantastic childrens play area which is all
covered by shades on a sandy floor. There are 2 swimming pools, a large one and a small childrens
one also. This pool is free of charge.
SWIMMING POOL AT SANDGATE.
On Sandgate seafront there is a lovely childrens park and next to it is a swimming centre, there is a
large swimmin gpool plus smaller childrens pools, there are a couple of small water slides and there is
also an indoor pool where you can get swimming lessons. There is a charge for using this pool but it
wasn't much and Josh was free!
